The case is made of white plastic with a darkâblue insert. The undulatory top panel diminishes visually the real depth of the case. The output slot is located closer to the middle, not to the rear edge, like the output slots of other apparatuses. The input tray is fully located in the case (in its lower part). Like the Lexmark printer, OKI B4100 has a mechanic indicator of filling. The red mark rises to the top, when the tray is full, and lowers, when it is empty.
A retractable support with a flap tab is provided for reception of prints. However the need for this device appears only at printing a big quantity of sheets at a time.
It is activated, when the printer prints on dense media, using a direct path. Media, sensitive to bending, e.g. dense cardboard and plastic with special coating, can be used in this mode. Oki B4100 is the only printer in our testing which features properly implemented direct path mode.
